To all who read this:

First of all my apologies if this post landed in the wrong forum. But I think this would be nice for all of you to know.

A guildmate of mine got banned 15 minutes ago while we were preparing to do Hells Precipe. Ok, banned... you might say... well, he probably deserved it then. But sadly the opposite is true, he is the most friendly ingame person I have ever met. Yeah right, you might think, how do I know. Well I dont care really what you think, I personally know he NEVER uses bots or third party programs. He never bought his account from someone else that misused it. He never scammed anyone for their money, in fact he was always broke but never really cared much about money. Just the fun of the game. I have never heard my friend swear or use vulgar or obscene words. He never linked to sites with pornographic contents, but occasionally undressed his characters when nobody was looking.

All in all... his ban is PERMANENT, without a warning. He never got any previous suspensions, which will imply that he has done something very grossly wrong. They do not want to say what exactly he did wrong, just that he violated the user agreement.

All in all, on these forums, I have never provided wrong information on purpose and always tried to help the community. I have 100% faith in my friend that he didnt do anything that deserved this ban.

The fact that his ban was permanent, without warning, seems that they might have made a mistake.

If this is true, I hope no other accounts have been banned by a errenous Anet computer.

Ofcourse it would be nice if a certain PR-lady could say some words here to make things up.

Add me to the list...came back from a 15 in afk and found myself banned. I was online afk most of the day, but I had been on talking with alliance members for a while before going afk for a few minutes. I freaked when I saw the msg, but at least now I know I'm not alone in this.

I really hope they resolve this, till then I am afking in my GH to prevent being banned if its possible to prevent.

wtf i got banned as well and there is no explanantion. Is this Anet's fault? I emailed tech support hopefully ill get an answer soon. Did everyone get the permanent ban stick :S

I've just been banned, too. Leader of my guild, not a farmer, help people out all day, infact, I DCed due to the ban while helping friend on Bloodstone Fen...

I've heared of it happening to others, and it ducking gets to you when it happens to you.

They're not gonna get another penny of my cash untill I get this sorted.

And here is the rare occasion when official forums constantly staffed by A-Net staff would be helpful. Just now I'm just miffed, but if someone doesn't explain why a significant portion of users in the western world just got banned, and fairly quickly at that, then I shall be more than just a little annoyed.

I was also banned while helping a guildy..if this really is a mistake and is permanent im gonna be really ticked seeing as i had full FoW one char and 15k on all the rest..not to mention over 1000+ hours of gameplay

my guildy says it could be because s/he has been afking too long on the 9 ring festival minigame and anet mistaked this for a bot of some kind. but i feel sry for ur friend and Witchblade

a friend of mine got his acc stolen by a spyware (ok his fault) and he got it back

...

100% cleaned with just what he unlocked !! dont wanna see that happen
i d not trade what i have done on GW even for an acc of ecto stacks ...
